Science and the Face of God: The Shroud of Turin
Join us for an insightful lecture presented by Fr. Robert J. Spitzer, S.J., Ph.D., on January 15, 2025, at 6:30 PM in the Milam Auditorium at Oregon State Unviersity. Fr. Spitzer, President of the Magis Center, will discuss the Shroud of Turin, a linen burial cloth believed to have been used to cover Jesus’ body after the crucifixion.
Fr. Spitzer has been instrumental in creating the largest science-based “faith and reason” institute in the U.S. and will explore the fascinating science behind the Shroud, offering a deep perspective on its historical and religious significance.
Because this Newman Lecture is being presented at Oregon State University, a carpool will be organized. If interested, please email us at collegeministry@stmichaelportland.org. We look forward to seeing you there!
